The SUREbyt Question
In this video, Dr Alberto Caimo, a Mathematician from Technological University Dublin asks the question:
Given two networks representing the spread of infection. In Network 1, all nodes have the same number of connections. In Network 2, some nodes are highly connected, most are lowly connected. Both networks have the same number of nodes and connections. Suppose that the infection and recovery rates per unit of time are equal to 1. How will the infection curves of the number of infected individuals appear in the two networks?
- The curves will behave in the same way
- The curve will be flatter in Network 1
- The curve will be flatter in Network 2
