From Conflict to Connection: Educators Leading the Shift Towards Restorative Practices (RP) in DEIS Primary Schools

My research focuses on the perspectives of educators in a DEIS primary school regarding Restorative Practices. The research pertains to a DEIS context, where working with students with a restorative lens can be beneficial. The research provides practical insights regarding the use of Restorative Practices in dealing with behaviour. It intends to inform future policy updates relating to behaviour management and discipline in primary schools to champion RP. Policy changes should give educators the agency to implement RP in a way that fits the context and needs of their school, while also promoting the links to pre-existing programmes and initiatives.
