SURE network members and Atlantic Technological University lecturers Dr. Therese Montgomery, Dr. Cormac Quigley and Dr. Brigid Hooban were delighted to represent the SURE Network at the recent Posters in Parliament (PiP), in Portcullis House, House of Commons, London on the 5th March 2025. This is an annual event, organised by Jane Byrne and team from the institute for Advanced Teaching and Learning (IATL) at the University Of Warwick and the British Conference of Undergraduate Research (BCUR) executive group annually. Posters in Parliament enables institutions to send two student researchers to present their research posters to MPs and policymakers based in Westminster each year. This years event was championed by Sir Alec Shelbrooke MP and showcased multi-disciplinarian undergraduate research from 49 students from 14 UK universities.
Looking forward to the inaugural multi-disciplinarian Irish Posters in Parliament event taking place in Dublin later this year, followed by Posters in Brussels in Dec 2026. This is initiative funded through the Erasmus + Higher Ed co-operation partnership 2024 call. To find out more about how you or your undergraduate research project students can present their research in parliament, please visit our PsO page or contact ATU project lead, Dr. Therese Montgomery (tmontgomery@atu.ie).
