Dr Ciarán O’Leary from Technological University Dublin has completed his term as the inaugural chairperson of the SURE Network, having served as the leader of the network since its creation in 2016. Ciarán has now handed over to Dr Therese Montgomery, who will lead the network for the next three years.
Referring to the completion of his term at the most recent SURE Conference, Ciarán spoke as follows:
My term as Chairperson ends shortly, after which I will hand over to Therese Montgomery as the incoming Chairperson. I want to acknowledge the beginning of the SURE Network, and the role played by my colleagues Julie Dunne, Barry Ryan for their vision that contributed so much to the establishment of the network, and Mary Deasy who helped build it into a network across institutions. So many people have been involved across all of Ireland, in implementing seven conferences, publishing two journal issues and organising a range of innovative curriculum initiatives. Therese has been a big part of many of these, and will be an excellent leader of the network for the next three years. As I hand over both the network and the conference to Therese, I wish you all the very best for the future.
