Undergraduate Research, Dissemination, Communication and Civic Engagement
Póstaeir san Oireachtas seeks to connect undergraduate students working on research directly with political decision makers. The theme of the Irish Posters in Parliament event (Póstaeir san Oireachtas ) is Research for Change. Through this project we wish to empower students via raising their awareness of our political systems and how they might advocate for societal change, in addition to guiding students on how to disseminate their research findings for maximal impact.
Students from all across the island of Ireland, who are currently involved in undergraduate research of political and social relevance can be nominated by their university. Research from all disciplines is welcome. Once nominated by their universities, students will then enter into a final selection process. If selected, students will receive dedicated online training in poster presentations, research dissemination and advocacy in advance of the event. Students will also have the opportunity to publish their research in a special edition of SURE Network Undergraduate Research Journal SURE-J.
Finally students will be invited to present their research findings directly to politicians and policy makers through a in person poster presentation in parliamentary buildings Dublin, Q4 2025.
Further Updates on this exciting new project and how you can apply for this years event (applications open Spring 2025) will appear here shortly. Watch this space!
