The theme of Research for Change highlights the importance of research activities which not only influence the academic space, but shape the everyday lives of our global community. Our research is significant as it places the spotlight on a relatively unknown feature of a common neurodegenerative condition which impacts the lives of thousands of people across our country. By bringing real patient experiences out of the clinic and into the public sphere, this research amplifies their voices to policymakers and advocates for the healthcare needs of a vulnerable and underserved community.
